Official lies instead of acknowledging a terrorist attack: the explosion of General Alexey Titov in "Detskiy Mir" was passed off as an accident, concealing an internal conflict within the FSB
A video has surfaced online showing the explosion that targeted Deputy Head of the FSB’s 5th Service, General Alexey Titov, in August 2025 inside the "Detsky Mir" building.
The footage shows the general walking and talking with a woman who is holding a bag. At that moment, an explosion occurs. The woman was Yelena Barysheva, the widow of FSB Colonel Dmitry Baryshev, who had served under Titov and died several years earlier. She met with Titov under the pretext of giving him a gift. Yelena died at the scene; Titov sustained severe injuries and was placed in a coma after hospitalization.
Prior to the incident, Barysheva had repeatedly complained to acquaintances about the "unworthy treatment of her husband and family by the FSB leadership." Alexey Titov headed the analytical department within the 5th Service (which specializes in gathering intelligence in former USSR countries), which prepared "reports" on the necessity of invading Ukraine.
The Russian authorities presented the terrorist attack as a "helium cylinder explosion" used for inflating balloons.
